2004 Buick Rendezvous a cross over between SUVs and minivans

The Buick Rendezvous is a combination of desired characteristics of a Sport Utility Vehicle, minivan and wagon.  It has crossed over all the lines that had previously separated sedans, minivans and SUVs, thus defying categorization.

Rendezvous is a versatile vehicle seating five to seven passengers.  It shares a basic structure with the Pontiac Aztek, but is longer to allow third row seating and this makes the vehicle roomy and very comfortable.  The seating set-up depends on how you choose to fold and configure it.Depending upon the need of the driver, he can choose to fold the third line of chairs to fit in cargo at the back or essentially just to widen the space between the first and second seats by moving the second line of seats backwards.

The car comes with a 3.4 liter V6 engine and has a horsepower of 185 at 5200 rpm and 210 pounds of foot torque at 4000 rpm, enough to handle anything you might throw at it.

It also comes with a four speed automatic transmission and either front wheel drive or all wheel drive, which ever you choose.  However, the four-wheel or all wheel drive will cost you extra.

The 04 buick rendezvous is offered in five trim levels: CX, CX Plus, CXL, CXL PLUS and Ultra, with Ultra being the highest class and CX the lower class of the five.  Additional features standard on Ultra and optional on other models are rear-obstacle detection, satellite radio and head-up instrument display.  Nearly, all of the features that come with Ultra are available as stand-alone options such as Ultra’s more powerful engine, anti-lock brakes, side-impact airbags and traction control.  These are all for your safety benefit.

You can also add a DVD entertainment or the multi-media navigation system, provided that you have at least a Rendezvous CXL.  They also offer a towing package which if your Rendezvous is properly equipped, can tow 3,500 pounds.  The towing package includes a high output alternator, transmission of oil cooler, heavy duty engine cooling and automatic load leveling.

The Buick Rendezvous rides more smoothly and offers more responsive handling than a SUV and was quiet for an SUV but a little noisy if compared to luxury sedan standards.  The Rendezvous also handles surprisingly well even in treacherous conditions, such as sandy and rocky arroyos, when equipped with an all-wheel drive.Versatrak is the name of Rendezvous’ four wheel drive which is clever enough to turn on by itself when it feels that traction aid is considered necessary.

If you are on a budget and still looking for a really nice ride, then you can never go wrong with the 2004 Buick Rendezvous!
